Cleaning your copper ring frequently will keep it looking pristine and will also help to prevent it from turning your skin green.
Copper is durable but like any other material, needs to be maintained and taken care of periodically. Thankfully, cleaning is easy compared to some other ring alternatives.
One of the best things you can do for your copper rings is have a jewelers cloth handy when you take your ring off. Wiping it down after each use is one of the best ways to keep it looking great.
You also want to avoid getting water on your copper rings. Showering with it or wearing it while swimming is not recommended unless you dry it right after. It won't hurt the metal, but it can cause to oxidize quickly. This could cause your copper pieces to begin to show shades of green.
If it begins to discolor, this is not a problem because you can clean it easily. Copper jewelry cleans easily with a simple solution of white vinegar and salt.
Oddly enough, you can also use ketchup to clean your copper. Ketchup has salt and vinegar in it already so it is something that you already have on hand.
Once you clean your copper, you want to keep it dry. Copper doesn't like moisture so get a dry box that is airtight to protect it if you plan on not wearing it for awhile.
You can also use a Ziploc bag if you don't have a box. Simply wrap the copper in a cloth or tissue and seal it in the bag.
