The wood for this ring is stabilized and is water-resistant. We still recommend avoiding water and keeping this ring dry when you can. The bello opal used in this ring is more durable than natural opal but is susceptible to cracks if not properly cared for. Beautiful material, though depends on light source and angle
Love Patrick Adair rings. I own 6 including my wedding band (and substitute band when getting dirty). The black fire opal material is beautiful. The colors can be vibrant and the overall affect is stunning. How vibrant and beautiful it is depends on the type of lighting and angle. I'm reducing my rating one star only because I wish I hadn't gotten the obsidian finish. That particular finish has multiple flat surfaces, which, when the light hits them at a direct angle, causes a white or washed out look that hides the colors, and draws attention from the rest of the ring. I am thinking a smoother, rounded surface would not have this issue, as you can see from the look of the inside of the ring.
